The design of the illustrated book has been my principal activity for the last twenty or more years. A book is, for me, something to be treasured and looked at over and over again.
It is my firm conviction that the design
of a book should bring to life, enhance and support its subject along with the author’s text and should never impose itself to the detriment of the reader’s experience and focus
of attention. In this way the content shines out and the design of it discreetly enhances the reader’s experience without overpowering their sensibilities with self-conscious or indulgent elements of design.
